How does Miso Cosmetic Acupuncture differ to other cosmetic acupuncture treatments?

Different to common cosmetic acupuncture treatments, Miso Cosmetic Acupuncture treatments not only stimulate just the acupressure points, nor just muscle facia, but integrates knowledge and practice of both to offer visible effects during and after treatment. The treatment is also designed for client care, hence we only use the finest needles rather than normal acupuncture needles to prevent and reduce pain and discomfort.

Are the acupuncture treatments painful?

Compared to acupuncture needles, the needles we use for the Miso cosmetic acupuncture treatments is much more thinner and softer, even more finer than a strand of hair. When the needle is inserted it almost feels like mosquito sting, there is almost no pain and discomfort. Hence most people finds it acceptable and more preferable than usual acupuncture treatments. Occasionally, when an area where deeper lines are being treated, a sore achey and tight sensation is felt. However, the treatment will also relax the scalp and hence most people fall asleep and have a nap during the treatment hour.

What do I expect from a typical acupuncture session?

For an initial visit, we will do a detailed consultation about your current concerns and health history before making a diagnosis. We will also take your pulse on both wrists and may ask to look at your tongue as both provide valuable information. After making a diagnosis your practitioner will decide the appropriate treatment for you- This may be acupuncture or Chinese herbs separately or in combination or may include the use of moxibustion, or gua sha. Your practitioner may also make recommendations regarding your diet and lifestyle.

A typical treatment will involve the insertion of 8-10 acupuncture needles into points which may be selected either close to the affected area or as far away from it as possible. The needles must stay in place for approximately 20-25 minutes, during which time most people drift into a state of deep relaxation or may even go to sleep.
